Who are we?
We are a team of engineers with a strong experience in energy systems and a passion for designing sustainable tri-generation (heating, cooling, decentralized co-generation of electricity and heat) energy networks.
To assist our design activities, we develop and use optimization computer tools, that play a key role during the pre-design phase, as well as during the identification of optimal control strategies or sector-coupling opportunities.
We also offer consulting services to utility companies and customers that are looking for innovative, efficient and cost-saving solutions.
Our strengths : energy networks, energy systems optimization, software tools applied to the energy sector.
Alberto is an energy engineer and entrepreneur. He holds a PhD in Energy from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology of Lausanne (EPFL). He acquired experience in software modelling and optimization of industrial systems, including renewable energy technologies. Alberto has been working in collaboration with EPFL and ABB Switzerland from February 2016 to March 2018. He has developed computer aided tools for the Optimization of complex thermal energy networks, and he has been involved in the development of a Swiss clean-tech company (TreaTech), developing an innovative wastewater treating technology.
Samuel is a mechanical engineer. He holds a PhD in Energy from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). Samuel has been working as an energy efficiency engineer at Group E Greenwatt before joining ExerGo. He has an industrial experience in energy efficiency analysis and software programming. During his PhD he extensively worked on CO2 networks, contributing to the realization of a CO2 test bench in Geneva (a collaboration involving scientific and industrial partners). This work has contributed to the foundation of ExerGo.
Luc is co-founder of ExerGo and R&D expert. He holds a PhD in Energy from EPFL, where he has developed a geographical information based system for the evaluation of integrated energy conversion systems in urban areas (EnerGis). Luc has also worked for BG Consulting Engineers in Geneva where he performed as a senior project engineer in Territorial Energy Planning. He supports ExerGo from his R&D position at the Industrial Processes and Energy Systems Engineering (IPESE) group at EPFL.
Daniel is an Honorary Professor of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) and co-founder of ExerGo. He is a member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences and of the National Academy of Technology in France. He has also an active participation in the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), as a member of the executive committee and vice-chair of the energy committee. He is associate editor of the journal “Energy” and the author of several books. Daniel his highly contributing to the development of ExerGo as technology inventor and innovation expert.
